Chateau Barde Haut 1997 St. Emilion, Bordeaux, France. Rated 90 by Robert Parker. "From the first tasting, this wine has possessed all of the earmarks of one of the vintage's stars, as well as a sleeper. A saturated blue/purple color is followed by sumptuous aromas of blackberry and blueberry jam. This medium-bodied St.-Emilion offers rich, multi-layered flavors in an elegant yet authoritatively rich style. Some tannin needs to be resolved, but there is gorgeous purity, a sweet mid-palate, and fine length in this stunning offering. A rich, well-balanced effort, it can be drunk now and over the next 12-14 years. While current inventory lasts.
